Personal with Mountains
After getting lost a little in the geology of mountains, I thought I should have a look again at why I might be personally looking at mountains.
It was actually this wrapper that gave me the idea to step back and look at how I feel emotionally about the mountains. I used to eat these wafers when I was a child actually living in the mountains and they always remind me of them. There is also a little image of a mountain featured on it which is making me think of ways people use mountains or environments to get people to imagine or associate a certain item with that place. Or even how the mountains can be a symbol. I will look further into this.
I went back to thinking of my own attachment to the mountains. I'm a Mountain Head. This has always been something I think about, something I grew up around and now that I am doing this project I am wondering how I will end up seeing them. This drawing was also looking a little at the way I draw faces, I do not normally draw them anything like this but I would like to explore the way in which I use marks in creating the face and see how I can develop my skill.

Have they chosen this background because it is calming? There are a range of different background that come up on the macs, all including mountains. Or is it to symbolise the mountains of work we have to do and the climb to get to the summit.
Or is it just a pretty picture?
I used to live in the french Alps during the beginning of my teenage years. I went back there to do my first winter season. Here are some photos I took while I was on my ski season in Les 2 Alpes, France during winter 2012:
La Muzelle can be seen to the right of the post.
I had a lot more but unfortunately didn't back them up and my computer crashed. Heart breaking.
La Muzelle
La Muzelle is the one mountains that has stuck to my mind and memory the most. Going to school in the area, it was a well known mountain and the kids say that this mountain was actually a giant that laid down and had fallen to sleep and turned to stone.
I am so involve with this story that I got it as a tattoo from my favourite tattoo artist Michele Servadio who took my story and illustrated it.
My tattoo.
I have tried to find this tale anywhere but to no avail. I wonder if I can find other myths and stories based on mountains.
