Response to Mountain Range Research
I have sort of had the idea of the skyline when looking at a mountain range. The words that have come during my research as well as the research into ranges and systems made me think of a piece of work that follows this.
When I actually drew out this idea, I was struck at how my jagged representation on the mountains on this, looked like a life line.
I followed his idea to make a mock up of what a book might look like. I had been looking at fold mountains so thought I would sort by making a concertina.
Cellulose on paper, paint pen on transparent paper.
I'm not sure this look like a heart rate line but sort of looks like a life line. I feel like a book like this gives a sense of sensitivity which is something I like thinking about when looking at the mountains. I think the initial idea of mountains that people have is or large, overwhelming landscapes that people might miss the sensitivity that they have towards their environment. They are susceptible to erosion and natural perturbation caused by climatic, meteorological, seismicity as well as human impact.
